TSUSBC Open Championship and Women's Tournament update as of 4/30/2020

The following was posted on the Texas State USBC Association website yesterday.  However, the Open Tournament Director has requested that San Antonio host the Open Tournament in 2021.  Both Fiesta Lanes and Astro SuperBowl have agreed to host the tournament.  So, instead of this year, we'll host the Open next year.
Dear Bowlers,
We have tried for several weeks to hold on, but with the governor’s new directive and restrictions on centers with social distancing, TSUSBC has no alternative but to cancel the Women’s and Open State Tournaments.  Tournament Directors will be contacting team captains and sending refund checks to them.  We will ask each team captain to make arrangements to get the teammates their refund as quickly as possible. Our thanks for your patience and our best wishes to you and your family to remain safe and healthy.

Joe Bess

Congratulations Joe on your induction to the Greater San Antonio USBC Association Bowling Hall of Fame class of 2020!

Historical San Antonio Women's Bowling Association scrapbooks are on display in the Association office.  Stop by and reminisce about the SAWBA and its members that are no longer with us.  There is one scrapbook from the late 1950's and most years from 1972 - 2006.  If you would like one of the scrapbooks, please leave me a note.  I plan on having them on display through the end of July then will either give them to  those that want them or recycle them.  Unfortunately, we do not have the storage facilities to be able to keep them for our future bowlers to be able to enjoy.
